PBT AG, based in Weinfelden, develops and produces bending machines for the most demanding applications. These machines are used worldwide. ATACOM has collaborated with PBT for many years and has already developed several generations of control systems.
ATACOM maintains the electrical schematics and control software for PBT AG. The purchase and commissioning of the control system is then carried out by the customer.
The latest generation of control systems utilizes a 15″ IPC with custom-developed visualization software. As a Profinet controller, the IPC manages Siemens S7-1200 controllers as well as over ten frequency converters and servo drives. This configuration offers maximum flexibility with low licensing costs, providing a foundation for easy system expansion or customization. While the IPC handles administrative and computational tasks, the PLC manages safety functions and high-speed hydraulic control.
